Hello peeps!

I've had fun messing with Distress Inks today. In the tag I used Old Letter and Fern stamps from Hero Arts, and the beautiful Doves again from Designs by Ryn. I wanted a lush forest effect and added Glossy Accents to the fern to make it look wet and juicy!

Designs by Ryn

Hello bloggers!

I've used the Circles set by Designs by Ryn to decorate this wooden word, kindly made for me by my neighbour for my new kitchen!

I painted the wood with gesso first, then with Fresco paint by PaperArtsy. I stamped the circles with Versafine Lagoon and added white highlights with a fine paint pen. A few added flat-backed pearls... et voila!!
I hope you like it, I certainly do! :D. Thank you for visiting and for any comments left, I appreciate them all! X

Designs by Ryn

Hello blog peeps!

I've been having great fun making shaving foam backgrounds! I squirted the foam onto a baking tray, smoothed it over, dripped Dylusions inks onto the foam and then swirled the mixture with a chopstick. My daughter pointed out to me that I had splodges of foam on my face, in my hair and on my clothes, great fun lol! The pretty bubble stamp is from Designs by Ryn. This effect reminds me of when ink is dropped into water and how it swirls around.

Ryn has a spotlight piece in Paper Crafter's Library today and to celebrate she is having a fabulous stencil give-away on both PCL and on her blog (see her icon on the blog list on the right). Why not visit her blog for some ideas of ways to use her fab new stencils? Enjoy! :)

Thank you for visiting! Xxx

Designs by Ryn, Mermaid and Koi

Hello bloggers!

I've been playing with my lovely stamps from  Designs by Ryn today.  I took a salted watercolour background, stencilled Ryn's Flowing Spirals over the top, then stamped the Koi and coloured him with Brushos.  The mermaid was stamped, coloured and cut out to sit on the card.  Sea bubbles are popped around the edge and finished with white enamel and Stickles.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for visiting and hope you have a great weekend. xxx

Happy Anniversary to me (and hubby)!

Hello bloggers!

It's my 22nd wedding anniversary today! I know people always say this, but where did the time go??

This is what I made for hubby, he doesn't like 'fussy' so it had to be simple. I made a gelli plate background using the distress ink method that Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps demonstrates on her blog. So easy! My gelli has a new lease of life. :)

Thank you for visiting! Xxx

Delicate Penny Black

Hello bloggers!

I bought this lovely Penny Black stamp, Dreamy, recently and decided to have a play this morning. My craft space is still not set up properly, so it's a bit crazy trying to find everything! I wanted a soft background for this delicate stamp, I was tempted to stamp some script behind it but it really is such a fine stamp that it would have become 'lost' in the script. So I opted for a splattery Distress Ink background instead. At the end of each little frond is a dab of glitter, shame it doesn't show up in the photo very well!

Thanks for visiting! Xxx

Another lovely workshop day!

Hello lovelies,

After almost a month without stamping (gulp!), I had a lovely day with crafty friends at another of Eileen Godwin's workshops.  This month we were using Brusho watercolour paints, great fun!

The first card was made with Rubbernecker's Poppy Field stamp...

The next card was made using mica spray, Brusho crystals and scrunched up cling film, topped with a Sweet Poppy stencil...

The final card was stamped with the Mermaid and little bubbles from Lavinia Stamps...

We really enjoyed getting good and inky, hope you've discovered the fun of Brusho paints too!
Thank you for visiting, hope you can leave me a comment. :)  Big hugs! xxxx

Creative bloggers hop.

Hello crafty peeps!

I've been nominated by the lovely Laine Webb to take part in the Creative Bloggers Hop! I have to apologise for not having the exact questions written down, we are having major work done on our house at the moment and I've lost the paper with the questions on! Anyway, here goes...

1. What am I working on now?

At the moment my craft room is packed away in boxes as the room is being knocked through into the kitchen. Our old dining room will become our bigger craft/ study room, exciting! I'm missing getting inky already, but I'm thinking about ways to use the new and very beautiful stencils from Designs By Ryn, as I'm extremely lucky to be on Ryn's design team!

2. How do I differ from others in my genre?

I'm not really sure, I don't think I have a particular style, I just make what takes my fancy at the time!

3. Why do I do what I do?

I discovered rubber stamps about 18 years ago and I've been hooked ever since! There's so much lovely crafty stuff to buy now but back then there were only ink pads and embossing powder... I think stamping is a great way to enjoy being 'arty' even if you can't draw (which I definitely can't lol). I love colours and pretty things so this hobby is THE BEST! :D

4. How do I do what I do?

Some of my favourite projects have started off on a background of Dylusions inks, I make lots of backgrounds in different colours so I have a stock ready and waiting. I usually build up layers then with stencils, stamps and finally die-cuts. But on another day I may be in a Clean and Simple mood!

Now it's time for me to nominate two other ladies whose blogs I find inspirational, they will post their answers to the questions next Monday.

Zoe Russell is a lovely lady and one of the first crafty friends I made when I joined blog land! Her work is always colourful and Zoe comes up with fabulous and individual designs, take a look at her blog HERE!

Pauline Orr also has a fab blog, she makes some great multi-media projects and it's always a pleasure to pay her blog a visit, have a look HERE.

Well, thank you for visiting today and for finding out a bit about me. :) Big hugs! Xxxx
