My first burnt chopping board!

Hello bloggers,

Happy New Year!! I hope 2016 brings you peace, prosperity, good health and creativity!

After seeing Jo Rice's fabulous chopping boards and listening to her advice, I decided to have a go at burning a design onto a board. Jo has posted a great tutorial on her blog jr-crafts.blogspot.co.uk if you want to learn more. I traced the chicken design onto the wood with the aid of graphite paper and then started burning! I used a very fine wire tip for the outline and fine details, then a spoon tip to shade in.

Thank you for visiting! Have fun, whatever you are doing today! Xxx

Came looking to see what you were up to in the absence of the Lavinia Challenge, and was delighted with what I found! This looks fantastic, and of course I had to scroll back through your blog to find out more. If these results are from a beginner, I may have to investigate this new technique! I enjoy card-making, but sometimes it would be nice to think that the end result was more durable.
In scrolling back, I came to your last Lavinia DT sample - sorry to hear that news. I don't always visit the individual blogs of every DT member, but each sample for each new challenge is very much appreciated - so, thank you for all the inspiration you've given, and good luck with your new crafting adventure!
